What Is Laser Hair Removal?
Laser Hair Removal is a non-invasive aesthetic procedure that uses concentrated beams of light to target the pigment (melanin) inside each hair follicle. When the laser energy is absorbed by the follicle, it converts to heat, damaging the follicle enough to significantly reduce or prevent future hair growth.
Think of it like this: the laser selectively seeks out the darker pigment in the hair shaft and root, leaving the surrounding skin undisturbed. Because hair grows in cycles, multiple sessions are needed to target follicles during their active growth phase. Over a series of treatments, most clients experience a dramatic and lasting reduction in unwanted hair.

The Laser Hair Removal Treatment
Understanding the treatment journey helps you plan and set realistic expectations. Here is a general timeline for most clients:
Before your first session
You will shave the treatment area 24-48 hours beforehand. Avoid waxing, plucking, or threading in the weeks leading up to treatment, as the laser needs the root intact to be effective. Sun exposure and self-tanner should also be avoided.
During the session
A handheld laser device is passed over the treatment area. Most clients describe the sensation as a light snapping feeling or a mild warmth. Sessions range from a few minutes to about 45 minutes depending on the size of the area.
Week 1-2 after treatment
You may notice some redness or mild sensitivity in the treated area. This typically resolves within 24-48 hours. Hair in the area will begin to shed naturally over the following weeks.
