What is Sculptra®?
Sculptra® is an FDA-approved injectable biostimulator formulated with poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA). When precisely administered into the deep dermis, PLLA microparticles act as a structural scaffold that triggers your body’s natural fibroblastic response. This clinical process stimulates the gradual production of new type-1 collagen.
Unlike traditional dermal hyaluronic acid fillers that simply space-occupy and mask volume loss, Sculptra® targets the underlying structural causes of facial aging. Over a series of sessions, it works from within to replace lost collagen, restore deep tissue volume, smooth deep wrinkles, and significantly improve overall skin laxity.
The Sculptra® Treatment
Sculptra® treatments at Deluxe Med Spa and Wellness are designed to be precise, comfortable, and tailored to each client’s unique facial anatomy. Before treatment begins, our providers evaluate deep volume loss, skin thickness, and structural balance. This thorough assessment helps determine the exact injection zones to ensure a balanced, completely natural-looking restoration.
During the procedure, the poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) solution is carefully injected into the deeper tissue layers using advanced techniques. Instead of simply filling an isolated wrinkle, Sculptra® is distributed evenly across target areas to create a hidden foundation that stimulates your body’s natural collagen production. To ensure client comfort, a local numbing agent is integrated into the protocol, making the injections quick and well-tolerated.
Treatment areas commonly include the temples, cheeks, lower face, and jawline to rebuild structural support. However, Sculptra® can also be used for specialized applications to improve skin texture and laxity on the neck and décolletage.
Most Sculptra® appointments take 30-45 minutes, making the treatment easy to incorporate into a regular skin maintenance routine. Because collagen production happens gradually, our providers customize a multi-visit treatment plan to deliver compounding, long-term results.

Mild swelling, redness, and localized bruising at the injection sites are common and typically resolve within a few days. Because Sculptra® is mixed with sterile water, your face will appear immediately volumized; however, this temporary fluid will absorb within 24 to 48 hours, returning the skin to its pre-treatment baseline until collagen production begins. Clients are advised to massage the treated areas according to our specific clinical guidelines (the “5-5-5 rule”) and should avoid strenuous exercise, alcohol, and prolonged heat exposure for 24 to 48 hours. Daily application of a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher is required going forward.
Sculptra® Recovery and Results
Immediately After Treatment
Sculptra® is a minimally invasive treatment requiring very little downtime, though individual cellular responses vary.
How Results Develop
Unlike traditional dermal fillers, improvement is not immediate. Because Sculptra® is a medical biostimulator, results develop progressively as the poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) microparticles signal your body to rebuild its own collagen matrix. Subtle, natural-looking volume restoration and improvements in skin laxity begin to show around 4 to 6 weeks post-treatment, with full structural benefits peaking at the 3- to 4-month mark. Once the new collagen foundation is established, results can last up to two years or more.
Maintenance: To achieve optimal outcomes, Sculptra® relies on a dedicated treatment plan. True skin health is a journey, and our package-based model is designed to guide clients through a structured, multi-session series—typically 2 to 3 sessions spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart.
